Today finds us gracing the pages of the wonderful Kimi-chan Experience! I am excited to be there, as it has been Kimi-chan herself that has been mentoring me as a new author. It feels good to be there, and I’m so darned excited about the Sims of Kiyoshi and Shelly! I mean, seriously… seeing them in the (Sim) flesh–as an author, who wouldn’t want to see that?!

I GOT A FIVE STAR REVIEW!!!!

I had a shit night at work and I come home to find my beautiful new mattress airing out (apparently the kind I have has to do that!) and I’m so happy. Tomorrow will be a blissful night of sleep. So then I change out of the uniform and give the cat some water, and I set up my computer. I hit my personal email, find a reply from my mom. She’s happy and she’s proud of me for my book. That always feels good, so I’m happy. I go to my author’s email and find an email from Authorgraph that says I have a new review. I scratch my head because I didn’t think that the site monitored reviews…? Click on the email and it opens up to say:

Today finds me at MM Good Book Reviews! Come see me and say hi to Pixie while you’re at it! I talked a little bit about the use of myth and fate in my stories, and gave a little glimpse of me in HIGH SCHOOL (oh, the horror!!! LOL)… but that also goes to show why I chose the charity I’m supporting this tour (and forever after, to be honest).

The charity is called Youth First, and it’s a Dallas-Fort Worth charity that benefits LGBT youth, because everyone needs a place to go to and feel safe, especially in states that still believe we’re living “an alternative lifestyle that can be cured.” Find more information on how to help here: Youth First.

Strange Days

It’s been a weird few days, and I can’t help but wonder if it’s just me getting older or if I’m started to be less accepting of the things that are not in my control. I know that while my head is a mess, it’ll be like trying to see through a muddy window, but I keep trying. The song I’m listening to at the moment is actually quite a good soundtrack to this convoluted post.

Yeah… gotta say I love Thirty Seconds to Mars. Most of Leto’s lyrics touch home in some way, shape or form. He might be a weird person, but the man can act and the man can write, and he’s often not bad on the eyes.

I don’t really know where this funk came from, but trying to sort through it is making it hard to focus on what really matters. I can’t help but wonder if what’s causing it is really not in my control? I mean, seriously… is it my pride that is keeping me from seeking out a different day job, or is it my pride that keeps me at my current one? Am I incapable of writing my own About Me section on a dating site, one that will actually spark the interest of my match or should I give up on the damn dating sites? If I’m supposed to give up on dating sites, then where the hell do I find a nice woman who wants to spend her life with me? It surely isn’t going to be at a bar, so where in Vegas do I look? *sighs in frustration*

And while I’m at it… I know that a bit of my frustration comes from looking too keenly at the stupid sales reports on Amazon. I’ve “sold” eight books from all the sites I’ve published on, and I am quite happy that eight people in the world took the time to purchase World’s End, because it’s great, but apparently, someone took it back to Amazon and asked for a refund.

This… this makes me sad and god, but it doesn’t help the rest of the crap going on in my head.

Well, with the tour company. 🙂 But still! I am excited about this! It’s my first book, my first tour, and my first real opportunity to help lots of someones in need, too! I hope that it always feels this good to be an author!
