Rainbow Snippets #4

Rainbow Snippets01

This week, I bring a new WIP to the table, one very special WIP I hope to be showing to an editor very soon, called The Sun of Tomorrow. This poor player will now fret and strut his six sentences across the page…

“This book says one very important thing, dear Winter,” Koray answered, a playful glint in his beautiful eyes. “It says that you are already in love, that you treasure one Mr. William Shakespeare.”

“Completely, if I were to admit it. I’m Elisabeth Shue in The Saint to Percy Bysshe Shelley,” Winter admitted with another blush.

“Then tonight… tonight is the greatest courtship ritual I could ever dream up.” Koray grinned, finishing, “I hope it’s as you like it.”

Author: M. LeAnne Phoenix

M. LeAnne Phoenix would tell you that the worst time of her life was the two years that she attempted to take off from writing. If you asked her to explain exactly why she did such a thing, you would most likely get the mad attempt to arch an eyebrow like her dad and then a shake of the head as she told you it was unlucky to speak of such things. Suffice it to say, it will never happen again! Born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas in the mid-1970's, Ms. Phoenix was young and wild (and even free!) during the crazy wondrous decade known as the 1980's and the even crazier but now grungy decade of the 1990's. Music is second only to the muses that live and breathe to fill her mind with beautiful men, and music always helps them to tell their stories. She is never without her Galaxy phone or some form of Supernatural / Dean Winchester and Castiel paraphernalia no matter where she goes, although, she does like to hike and take pictures of the sky and the moon, and even the occasional shot of the sun through the branches of a tree. An avid cat lover, Ms. Phoenix has been owned by many throughout her life, though her current owner is one Gypsy Jo, who really would like for her to step away from the keyboard and pay her some attention! After all, hasn't she earned it? M. LeAnne Phoenix can be found on Facebook at www.facebook.com/mleannephoenix. As this is her first real foray into the professional world of writing, there will be more social media to come.

      1. Yep! 🙂 If you wanna be in on it, just ask Rian! We have a private group for the anthology. The group is called the Summer’s Day group.

      2. Here are the deets. 🙂 (I had to go find them, ’tis why it took me so long!)

Stories should be preferably an interpretation of a play but they can be anything Shakespeare related – inspired by a sonnet, or something to do with those yummy cross-dressing boys on the Renaissance stage, or the secret affair between Shakespeare and Marlowe (hehe, I know, going too far). In short – Go wild!
Heat Level – Any (Your heart’s desires be with you!)
Word count – 3000 to 8000 (but don’t feel restricted).
Rights – I think it’s called non-exclusive, meaning – you can do whatever you want with the story.
Payment – This will be a charity anthology.
Deadline – End of May. It will be nice to send the stories when they are ready so that we have a real time editing.
        E-mail account for submissions/ideas/questions etc: summersday400@gmail.com.

It’d be super to have you along. If Rian adds you (can’t imagine she wouldn’t if you have the time), there’s a document in the group that lists who has claimed what, but I think she said if more than one person wanted to do the same play, they could. ❤ Hope to see you there!

  1. I’ll tell you what I really think of it. It’s amazing, Annie, I knew I should leave it as a prize after a tiring day at work. I also think I almost lost my breath. ❤ Thank you!
